whenever i try to write
it just sounds like trite
re-reading old journals
kind of makes my toes curl
so i'll try something new
and as with popsicle sticks and glue
i'll build something true
that sounds pleasant to the ear
yet speaks my feelings loud and clear
we'll see how long this lasts
yet unlike other fads
i hope this one sticks fast
